Recent pictures of Jolie (with some captions)

We have a lot of great photos from our trip up north that we haven't sorted through yet, but we'll post some of those when we're more together. For now, here are some pictures from the last week or two, along with some brief commentary when appropriate.

This is Jolie in the act of reaching for the camera. She seems to like almost all forms of electronics that can possibly be made to malfunction by sucking on them.

This is Jolie with crazy hair.

This is hipster Jolie, with her Bklyn T-shirt (American Apparel brand) and her H&M hat. Those argyle-ed things holding her up are my feet, which is a trick I just learned.

This is Jolie climbing out of the laundry basket. The picture suggests that Jolie climbed into the laundry basket before trying to climb out of it, but in fact we placed her in the basket for the purposes of this picture because we get a kick out of taking pictures of her in various container-type things.

These following two pictures are of Jolie in her cute new (hand-me-down) Hannah Anderson outfit. And while we're on the topic of baby clothing labels, you may be interested to know that a legend has developed amongst Jess's Austin mom friends that I have a superpower that allows me to instantly know the brand of clothing that a kid is wearing. The truth is that I know that brand of clothing that my daughter is wearing at a given time, which apparently is enough to make a lot of the other dads out there look bad by comparison. It's also the case, though, that certain brands have a distinctive look, and sometimes I can spot a Zutano or a Hannah Anderson (which is big on the vertical stripes and bold colors) from a distance.

This is a re-enactment, sans the abject terror, of how we learned a) that Jolie's capable of pulling herself up on the side of her crib, and b) that it's time for us to adjust the crib so that she can't lean over the rail of the crib and nearly plummet to the floor.
